These images are from my field trip last weekend. We stayed in this very small town in eastern France one night. It had one hotel with one pub next door, but that didn’t stop us. It was also our first night hanging out with some of the foreign students, but others (like Leo and Thomas -left picture) we can’t seem to get rid of (just kidding). They found out that my boyfriend would see this picture, so they decided to have fun with the camera, and me, just before it flashed. The other picture is me, Jessica, and Catarina (she is Greek) just hanging out in Jessica’s room before we went out.

My friend Tim just left this morning. We had a great visit, and went to some museums that I haven’t ventured into before. This past Thursday was the New Beaujolais Day, sort of a holiday in France that happens every year when the year’s wine comes out for purchase. People begin drinking even in the morning to taste the new beaujolais. Our school cafeteria had a party for it - 80 cents per glass or $5 per bottle. It is a pretty interesting concept to see people walking into class with a glass of wine or beer. It is not really considered alcohol, just another typical drink, during daytime at least.

I almost have my Christmas travel plans ironed out. The first week I am spending time alone in my cozy little apartment in Paris, I am really excited about that. Then I will be going to Munich, Germany; Vienna, Austria; and I will spend Christmas in Budapest, Hungary. Then I will swing back by Paris to pick up a little package that is coming for me (about 5′9′’, 142 lbs., shaggy hair and big blue eyes) and jump on a night train to Venice and Milan, Italy, where I will probably spend New Year’s Eve. Yes I know, my life is pretty rough….Today is pretty rainy in Paris; good day to do lots and lots of homework.
By the way Da, Mom, and Brandi, congrats on winning the Iron Bowl. I know you all worked so hard to support the team so they could beat Alabama. War Eagle. As for GA Tech, they probably would have been better off just not playing this year.
