So I tried to escape the wonderful Christmas atmosphere by going as far east as possible, but alas, Vienna was as far as I could get. They are more Christmasy than anywhere else in Europe I think. But it was really fun and relaxing. The markets were great, the palaces were great. This market is in front of city hall(that is what you see in the background). Other than that and walking around in snow while my foot was trying to kill me, we watched movies and slept late….the perfect vacation (besides going to Italy avec mon petite amie). I had a hard weekend and now I am preparing for the next one (I know I use this always busy excuse for not updating my website often enough, but I promise I will get better). So ciao, until next time.

p.s. sorry these pics aren’t really in chronological order either.

Which just so happens to be due today in class, so I decided to post my conceptual work and pictures for you guys to look at. I won’t write much this time, because I have received criticism about my run-on sentences. Plus there is more to read if you click on the dossier link.

So sorry I haven’t done this in awhile. School has been busy; and ofcourse I have to balance out my worktime with playtime, so I am sure you know how the rest goes. Anyway, these pictures are of Cbq and me in Venice right after the new year. In the first one, CBQ is laughing because he never knows what to do when I put the camera in his face, but I am not complaining, because it is definitely better than his “ugliest face in the world” face that he used to make. The second is just a typical really beautiful picture of Venice, and the third is another typical really beautiful picture spot in Venice. My roommate and her boyfriend go their picture taken in the same spot a few weeks earlier. Life has been going well. Paris is having a warmer streak right now, even though I am sure my mentioning it will jinx it and it will get really cold again.

A couple of us Americans went iceskating today in front of Hotel de Ville (City Hall). Apparently I am not very good at it. Wes isn’t very good either, but he was good enough to pull me slowly around in circles until he tripped and fell. After that, we decided we should retire from iceskating, so we left everyone there and got coffee instead. At least we tried.

So hopefully I will get more pictures up soon. I just got the cable to hook my camera to my laptop, so I am making movies, and maybe one will be small enough to fit on my website, but I think everyone who knows me or has read this incredibly long run-on sentence knows that I am not very good at editing out unnecessary information. So get on my case about this updating business, or at least just email so I feel important. Cheers!

Free time has been few and far between this semester, which has only lasted two weeks by the way. I am hoping that this is an aggressive beginning because I hardly have time to think right now, and most of you guys know what I am like when that happens (you should see my room right now, yikes!) I really miss studio in Atlanta. Now that I have to work in my bedroom, I realize how great it was to have other people in the room working on the same project as you and having an extra space that was there for the purpose of production. You can throw scraps on the floor because there are janitors to clean it up, and supplies are readily available. I have so much cardboard, plastic, and utensils on my floor right now that you can barely see it, and I don’t have the time to take to clean it up, because I need to do more drawing, and it would look the same again tomorrow anyway.

So hope you guys are all doing well. Sorry for all the complaining. I like being under pressure anyway, because I get more organized, in my own way ofcourse.

Geez guys, I am so sorry for being so irresponsible on my Christmas break, but it was worth it! Now I have my brand new laptop - Apple Powerbook G4 (which just dropped in price over the past three days since I have had mine, but that is only my luck anyway) - so I have no reason to slack on updating my website. It might take me a couple of days to put up pictures, though, because I am still learning how to play with this thing. So please be patient with me until I get everything set up and I promise that jodibell.com will get much better everytime you look at it! hee hee.

By the way, the little alien is my new instant message icon that is a visual representation of myself, at least after having spent 10 days with this wierd sci-fi-loving computer science boy who I just can’t seem to get rid of/enough of (just kidding honey - only about the “get rid of” part, the rest is completely true).
Speaking of my boy, Quinn and I had a great time in Italy. He spoiled me to death.
Thank you very much to everyone who helped me get my computer. It has already made its first visit with me to my cafe on the corner so I could play with it while drinking my coffee like only true hackers do….hee hee

And Quinn finally made it home safely, after spending 8 hours in the Paris airport because of a flight delay with a really really bad sore throat (he looked so pitiful), which eventually caused him to spend the night in Philadelphia, so he just got home early this morning. He didn’t sound as sick as he did when I left him though….

My first day of school went really well. I am really excited about my studio project because I will be working with Jessica by choice, and we are going to create something incredibly weird I am sure. I was also asked by my French teacher to move up to the smart class (we have a smart class and a dumb class for those of us who just don’t think very coherently at 9 a.m., especially in a different language), but I am definitely not accepting the invitation because then I might have to wake myself up on Wed. mornings when Becky would have class after me, and if I have made it this far in Paris without any type of time piece, I am not about to get one now!

So you guys have a great life until the next time I update, hopefully with pictures, but I promise it will be very soon.
